Brett brings an interdisciplinary background to service Breakthrough clients across multiple disciplines during his career, starting on our Client Services team, transitioning to the Applied Knowledge team, and now serving as the Sustainable Solutions Lead at U.S. Venture, Inc. Brett conducts research and provides insight into industry technology advancements and alternative energies.
Biography
Brett Wetzel is Breakthrough’s Senior Director of Applied Knowledge. He joined Breakthrough in 2013, bringing an interdisciplinary background to deliver distinguished service to Breakthrough clients throughout his career. Starting in a Client Services role and he then transitioned to the Applied Knowledge team to specialize in technology advancements, market dynamics, alternative energies and emissions and carbon policy. He leads a team of researchers that provide exclusive market insights to Breakthrough clients ranging from freight, energy, market events, and forecasting.
Brett has been featured in multiple publications such as FreightWaves and Florida Trend, and he has written dozens of expert pieces for the Breakthrough website.
Prior to Breakthrough, Wetzel was a high school mathematics teacher and received a Bachelor of Science in Math Education from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
